CPE 660/610: Rigid Pavement Construction


This unit introduces concrete technology and materials as it applies to rigid road pavement construction. Specifications for different applications are addressed including quality assurance and other aspects of contract management. The preparation of the subgrade, selection of plant, concrete production, transport and placement are covered in detail including the compaction, jointing and finishing processes. The unit also deals with the use of roller compacted concrete pavements.
