Ken's VicRoads career culminated in eight years as Director Asset Management, during which time he led the challenging transition of VicRoads from a "Maintenance Manager" to an "Asset Manager".
Ken was also responsible for preparing and presenting the annual asset management program to the Management Committee of VicRoads. This program covered one of the state's largest capital assets and the planning therefore required Ken to deliver a faultless combination of strategic understanding, diligence and judgement with a small team of professional staff who he directed, guided and inspired.Ken has also worked extensively with local government asset managers, having a deep understanding of the issues and challenges, not to mention the perspective, of this critical stakeholder group. He has also had significant contact with industry over the years and has a deep understanding of their imperatives.
Ken applied these strategic skills in developing the VicRoads Road Management Plan, a rolling, long term approach to the main road assets of Victoria.
Ken holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a Grad Dip in Municipal Engineering, is a Chartered Professional Engineer, a member of the Institution of Engineers and Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers
