Jo is a Senior Lecturer in Construction Engineering and Management at The University of Southern Queensland (USQ). Prior to commencing with USQ she held a senior management position in industry with Shell Australia, where she had worked as an engineer since graduation delivering retail and bulk storage fuel projects.
She has been examiner for a variety of courses within several engineering programs and is the Program Coordinator for the USQ Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) program.
Jo has been an active member of the USQ Academic Board, Education Committee and Engineering Education Research Group. she has published several peer-reviewed papers on engineering education and a PhD dissertation in the area of engineering education. Her primary research interest the facilitation of access and academic success for diverse student cohorts in engineering. She graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with honours from The University of Adelaide, completed a Graduate Diploma in Technology Management from Deakin University by distance while working full time in industry and has a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Southern Queensland.
