Dep Sec presented at CPEE Stabilisation Course with AustStab

It was a fantastic day of learning, connection, and knowledge-sharing at our CPEE - Centre for Pavement Engineering Education / AustStab Limited Road Stabilisation Training Course held yesterday at Monash University, Docklands.
We were fortunate to welcome William Tieppo, Deputy Secretary – Department of Transport, who generously opened the day with a thought-provoking address, offering strategic insights into the role of stabilisation in the future of our transport infrastructure. We are sincerely grateful for his time and support.
Jim Appleby, Chief Operating Officer – Hiway, Jayantha Kodikara, Professor - Monash University, Marc Pizzi, Portfolio Manager – Monash University, and our CEO Madeleine McManus OAM also attended, alongside Director of Industry Engagement Rachael Rooney. Their presence reinforced the value of collaboration between government, industry, and education in delivering better road outcomes and ensuring knowledge is shared across all levels of the infrastructure sector.
A huge thank you to our expert presenters Geoff Webb (CPEE) and Christopher Cleaton (Stabilised Pavements of Australia), who delivered engaging, hands-on sessions covering stabilisation binders, mix and structural design, construction safety, and real-world case studies. Their technical knowledge and practical insight truly brought the day to life.
Well done to all the participants who brought energy, curiosity, and experience into the room. Your questions and collaboration made it a truly enriching event.
This course, aligned with Austroads Guides and the AustStab Pavement Recycling and Stabilisation Guide, continues to play an important role in advancing capability across our sector.
Thank you as well to our friends at Monash University for your support with hosting us in your venue.
